Restaurant waiter/waitress

To ensure maximum guest satisfaction by providing excellent food and beverage service in a competent and professional manner and to obtain maximum efficiency and productivity.

Display a sound knowledge of all menu items, cooking technique and local products in an accurate and detailed manner.

Duties, Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Have a thorough knowledge of all menu and wine list items, in order to be able to accurately advise guests.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of all food and beverage prices.
  • Confidently make food and beverage recommendations to guests.
  • Responsible for pre-service preparation.
  • Ensure that the quality and presentation of food is served to the set standards. Any concerns must be reported to management.
  • Be familiar with food and beverage service etiquette, serving all food and beverage in a professional manner and to the required standards.
  • Attend to all guests requests immediately and report any service concerns to management.
  • Polish all silverware, glassware and cutlery.
  • Ensure that the liquor and licensing laws are followed and understand the correct procedures for handling intoxicated and underage guests.
  • Provide all guests with efficient and friendly service, fulfilling guest's needs and ensuring standard of service is always maintained.
  • Monitor and take action to ensure quality of beverage and service standards are met.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in MICROS system.
  • Passionate about hospitality service.
  • Demonstrated capability to multi task.
  • Capability to connect with guests and provide a high level of service.
  • Exceptional written and communication skills.
